Web Design
Project 1: Microsite
For our first project, we were assigned to design a "microsite" for a band. A microsite is usually a simple webpage promoting one thing. For class, that one thing was a new album from the musician of our choice. I chose the band OK Go, inspired in part by their new music video "I Won't Let You Down". They are an alternative band with a modern, funky edge. They are well known for their experimental videos which often include optical illusion, bright primary colors, and an inventive new way of producing a music video. Videos include jumping around on treadmills, setting up a chain reaction, getting splattered with paint, and much more.

Project 2: Pandora App Redesign
For this project, we were given the task of redesigning the Pandora app. Our first step was to critique the existing app We made an outline of how the app is organized. We made note of where every click on the page took you. Next we compared the app to other music apps, such as Spotify and Songza. We looked on Pinterest for inspiration on font, texture, and overall feel. We created our projects in Photoshop, and critiqued them as jpegs on our smart phones.

Project 3: Library Redesign
We were given the task of redesigning the Louisville Free Public Library's website. In addition, we were to design a mobile edition. Upon review, I realized that the colors need more consideration, as many people commented that it was too feminine.

Project 4: Exile Coffee Co. Design System
This project brings together everything we have learned in class thus far. We were given 2 made-up companies to choose from. With the company description, we were to make 2 desktop designs, 2 tablet designs, and 2 mobile designs. I later redesigned this project (well, at least the homepage; see Junior: Bookforms).
